Woman engineer arrested in Odisha for manufacturing and selling country made liquor

Bhadrak, Jan 14: A woman and her daughter-in-law, who is a civil engineer by profession, were arrested for manufacturing and selling liquor in Ghushuripokhari village under Bhadrak Rural police limits on Thursday. Police have seized 1,000 litres of country made liquor, cash of Rs 1 lakh from the accused. However, the two sons of the woman managed to escape from the spot. Police said that acting on specific information, they raided the house of the woman and found the family of being engaged in manufacturing of country made liquor. “The family has been running the illegal business for past few months. We are trying to nab both the male members of the family who managed to escape,” said a police official.
