Sundargarh, Jan 31: In a gory incident, a woman has allegedly killed her husband in an inebriated state in Koira locality of Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Munda, a resident of Gopi Sahi in Oraghat village under Koira police limits.
According to sources, Shankar and his wife Srimati Munda used to drink alcohol after work.
However, Shankar allegedly beat his wife after she refused to give him money for liquor on Friday night.
Following this, a heated argument broke out between the couple. Enraged over this, Srimati hit her husband with a wooden plank under the influence of alcohol. As a result, Shankar immediately fell down on the floor and died.
Reportedly, the matter came to the light after some neighbours spotted Shankar missing for two days. On being asked, Srimati confessed to have murdered him on Friday night under the influence of alcohol.
Being informed, police arrived at the spot and recovered the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused woman killed her husband alone or any other persons were involved in the murder, said a police official.
