Jagatsinghpur, Sept 2: A woman and her nine-month-old son have reportedly gone missing under mysterious circumstances while travelling by train from Bengaluru to Odisha.
The missing woman has been identified as Subhadra Mallik, wife of Prakash Mallik, a resident of Rankei village in Jagatsinghpur district.
According to reports, Subhadra was returning home with her nine-month-old son aboard the Bhubaneswar–Bengaluru Express on August 31. At around 1:45 pm, she spoke to her father over the phone and asked him to arrange an auto-rickshaw to pick her up from Bhubaneswar railway station.
Following her request, her younger brother travelled from Jagatsinghpur to Bhubaneswar in an auto-rickshaw to receive her. However, when he reached the station, Subhadra's phone was switched off. Despite waiting for a considerable amount of time, he was unable to locate his sister and eventually returned home.
Concerned over her disappearance, Subhadra's husband, Prakash Mallik, lodged a written complaint with the Bengaluru Government Railway Police (GRP). Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
However, no information regarding the whereabouts of Subhadra and her infant son has been found so far. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear, and the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be established.
