Wife of Covid deceased in Odisha returns Rs 40 lakh collected for treatment

Bhadrak, Jan 17: The wife of Abhisek Mohapatra, who was earlier flown to Kolkata from Bhubaneswar in an air ambulance for advance ECMO treatment today, returned Rs 40 lakh collected for treatment of her husband. Mohapatra had died on September 8 while undergoing treatment. The 28 years old was airlifted from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata on June 7. Since then, he was under treatment in Kolkata for lung ailments caused by the Covid-19. Mohapatra’s wife has donated Rs 30 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and another 10 lakh towards Red Cross Fund. His wife and family members have collected donation from various sources for his treatment. However, Rs 40 lakh remained with the family members after his demise.
