Balasore, 13/11 (Sarbeswar Nath): People are curious to know as to why union minister Pratap Sarangi has remained a bachelor and is leading a single life. Sarangi had a desire to be a saint and he had also gone to Ramakrishna Mission for this purpose. But he was sent back to serve his widow mother. From that day, he had vowed to lead a bachelor life. But he prefers to spend time in a spiritual atmosphere. Most of the times, he spends time in ashram alone. During his prime youth, Pratap had received a love letter from a young woman. However, he did not pay heed to the letter. A lady devotee of a saint, in whose ashram Pratap was staying, had proposed to him. But as he had taken a vow not to marry and serve his mother, the love letter did not influence him. This was told by Sarangi himself to Prameyanews in an exclusive interview. Pratap said that his mother had broached the topic of marriage several times. But he had convinced her in polite words. Now his mother is no more. But he has the responsibility of taking care of his sister and her family besides being an union minister. Now his supporters are surprised after learning that their leader had once received a love letter, but did not respond to the offer.
