Will night curfew be imposed in the Odisha capital ?

Bhubaneswar, April 6: The second wave of Covid is haunting Odisha. As a preventive measure against it, the State Relief Commissioner has imposed night curfew in ten major corona affected districts. While the health department now considers to seal the state borders to the neighbouring states, at the same time there are speculations that the night curfew may be clamped in the capital city, which is emerging as a hot spot for Covid pandemic. The Corona infection is picking up day by day. Yesterday, the number of corona positive cases in the capital city rose from 38 to 75, which has spread panic among the denizens. As many as 11 positive patients had been identified from Bhubaneswar airport on Sunday. Three positive cases were found from the railway station. Seven cases had been detected from the State Bank of India main branch. .Thus, in a day Bhubaneswar listed as many as 38 positive cases.BMC and state health team has beefed up testing and tracking in the railway station, airport and bus-stops.Significantly, testing of as many as 313 passengers in the airport found 11 Covid -19 positive cases. Besides, corona positive cases have been detected from the campus of Utkal University and many more private educational institutions such as Xavier Institute of Management, Silicon Institute during a week. Similarly, a few corona positive cases have been found on the outskirt of Bhubaneswar. On the other hand, the whole city is as busy as in the previous years. Malls, shops and offices are working in full swing without any restriction. If it’s not resisted from the very beginning, the same pandemic situation may come back once again, said a health expert.
