Bhubaneswar, Nov 6:Aspirants accompanied by guardians staged a massive protest before the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) in Bhubaneswar on Thursday over the inordinate delay in the Leave Teacher Reserve (LTR) Sanskrit teacher recruitment process.

Taking to  up-downs with ear squat positions they called for quick publication of the final merit list and the completion of the recruitment process.

During the protest, the aspirants alleged sheer negligence towards the classical language(Sanskrit) and injustice against LTR candidates.

The protest became violent as scores of aspirants’ parents joined the scene who demanded to release the merit list as soon as possible, which has been allegedly kept in abeyance despite completion of the written exams  and the document verification.

According to the qualifying candidates, the merit lists for the LTR recruitment in PCM, CBZ, PET, Urdu, and Telugu have already been published. However, the Sanskrit Teacher merit list is yet in the lock & key of the OSSC authorities, with having no reasonable ground.

Worth mentioning, the government had issued a notification for the recruitment of 729 LTR Sanskrit Teachers. The written examination was held in May 2025, and document verification was held on October 22.
