Bhubaneswar , Jan 7: The Department of Women and Child Development has been conferred with the SKOCH award in the 78th summit of the SKOCH group for its initiative “Mo-Chhatua” - that has transformed the supply chain management of Take Home Ration (THR) distributed to children and women throughout the State. The initiative has been acknowledged and appreciated at the national level for being first of its kind in entire country in bringing about a paradigm shift in the supply chain management process of THR. The Mo-Chhatua platform comprises of a web based portal and a mobile application, has been developed in line with the State’s 5T initiative (transparency, teamwork, technology and timeliness — leading to transformation). Targeted Take Home Rations (THR) are being provided for children (6months to 3 years), pregnant women, lactating mother and adolescent girl (out of school) as part of ICDS Supplementary nutrition programme. In Odisha, presently 540 self help groups are producing THR at their respective plant. The complete cycle consists of different steps, starting from indenting to procurement, manufacturing, packaging, supply and payment. The entire supply chain management process has been completely digitised and applications are being used by stakeholders at various levels e.g., SHG members (app), ICDS Supervisors (app), Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), District Collector, State Officials (web portal). By availing all the necessary details through the dashboard, the department officials are being able to facilitate effective decision making on a regular basis.
