WB girl gangrape in Konark: panother youth detained

Bhubaneswar: The Konark police have detained another person in connection with the gangrape of a West Bengal girl in confinement case that came to limelight three days back. The detained youth was identified as Shiba Behera, manager of the Kalijai Hotel located at Konark. Earlier, the police had detained two persons. Notably, the girl was rescued from a locked room near Konark Market Complex on Wednesday. The victim alleged that she was repeatedly gang-raped by 12 persons for 10 days after being kept in confinement in the house. On being informed by some locals, fire service personnel had rescued her by breaking open the door. She was initially admitted to Gop Community Health Centre and later shifted to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital. According to police, the victim had been brought to Odisha by another girl named Kajal, on the pretext of providing a job to her a year ago. But they forced her into prostitution.
