Kashmir, Oct 3: One Odia IPS Officer RR Swain who retired as DGP, Jammu & Kashmir Police recently left his companies almost spell bound as he was proved samaritan for the police and common people during his 33-year tenure of service.
Cops, starting from a mere Constable upto senior IPS Officers-to the rank of the ADG and even the reliever incumbent, all were silenced for hours while they were offering heartfelt send off to the outgoing DGP on an occasion.
The send off moments during the heartfelt adieu of DGP Swain who had emerged instrumental for the J&K Police and the aboriginals of the valley, was quite uncommon and heart-pinching for many a reasons.
DGP Swain was seen indiscriminatingly hugging all his subordinates one by one on the occasion, shedding tears from his eyes while shaking hands with them in lieu of the ultimate salutes acknowledged from within their hearts.
Before handing over the charge as the DGP of J&K to the Designate, Swain extended his obeisance and flowery tributes at the Martyrs Memorial Tower for the sake of the Martyrs those sacrificed their precious lives for the nation, while fighting terrorism across the J&K vallies.
During the submission before the great souls, Swain said,” You all became uncommon to be worshipped for ever sacrificing your great lives for the sake of mother India.”
“I personally bow down before your pride for your unwavering support to help me serve the people of the terrorist-hit J&K with good policing. Will be indeed memorable within my mind and heart for ever, as you have also shared crucial roles in ensuring my personal safety & security”, Swain added.
Following a formal meeting, the outgoing DGP was taken abode a tumbrel, pulled as a chariot where companies of police with full of tears in their eyes shared their hands on the ropes and helped the wagon roll down miles away that led to the DGP’s official residence.
