Wasim Jaffer visits Odisha after his appointment as chief coach

Cuttack, July 23: Newly appointed chief coach of Odisha cricket team Wasim Jaffer today reached the state and met officer bearers of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA). Jaffer also addressed his first press meet at OCA Conference Hall, Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. In the press meet, he highly appreciated the efforts undertaken by OCA in the recent past. He said he was optimistic about helping the Odisha team emerge as one of the best in domestic cricket. Jaffer the highest run-scorer in Ranji Trophy cricket had resigned as head coach of the Uttarakhand cricket team in January 2021 alleging selection bias by officials. Jaffer has played 31 tests for India scoring five hundreds while he has also represented India in two ODIs. He has Test centuries against Pakistan, England, West Indies and South Africa. In March 2020, he has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
