Bhubaneswar: Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu will dedicate to nation the Odisha’s fifth LPG bottling plant at Balangir on Friday.
The bottling plant has been constructed by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in a record 19 months. It is the second bottling plant of the BPCL in Odisha. The State has four bottling plants at Balasore, Jharsuguda, Khurda and Jatni.
The plant at Barkani built at a cost of Rs 103 crore is spread over 23 acre and has the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year. It houses facilities like 24 station electronic carousel, fire water tanks of 1,853-kilo litre capacity each, filling and filled shed, eight bay tank lorry decantation gantry and three 300 tonne mounded storage vessel.
The Vice President will arrive at bottling plant at Barkani, nearly 12 km from Balangir, this morning. People have started entering the meeting venue at Barkani. Adequate security arrangements have been put in place in view of the Vice-President’s visit.
