Voluntary retirement of Senior IPS Officer Arun Sarangi allowed

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: The Odisha Government has allowed the voluntary retirement of Senior IPS Officer Arun Kumar Sarangi.

Odisha Home Department issued notification in this connection on Saturday.

Sarangi is now serving as Special DGP (Training) & Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA) Bhubaneswar.

Earlier he was also the In-charge DGP of Odisha Police who relieved the incumbent DGP YB Khurania recently. 

Alongside allowing the intended VRS of Sarangi, the Odisha government has appointed him as Chairperson of the Odisha Public Service Commission(OPSC).

According to the Home Department’s notification, in pursuance of Sarangi’s submission on September 30, 2024 who had sought permission for VRS, the Odisha government has allowed his voluntary retirement with effective from October 7, 2024 with all post- retirement benefits.
