Bhubaneswar, Sept 16: A new full-size volleyball court was inaugurated at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, here on Tuesday, with the objective of promoting sports and encouraging students to pursue physical activities.
The court was formally inaugurated by Prof. P.K. Sahu, Dean, ITER. Prof. Ranjan Kumar Mallick, Chief Warden of the hostels, was also present on the occasion.
The new facility will provide students with an opportunity to practise volleyball regularly and develop their sporting skills. The court has also been equipped with lighting facilities, enabling students to practise during the evening and night.
To provide professional guidance and training to interested students, the university has appointed a dedicated volleyball coach.
The initiative is expected to further strengthen the sporting culture at ITER and provide students with better opportunities to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle while developing their skills in volleyball.
