Jatani, Mar 15: A visually impaired artist of Jatani area in Khordha district named Adikanda Sahu is seen crying for a pension to make his both ends meet. Sahu(55), a visually challenged who lives at Ward No. 4 under Jatani Municipality, expresses his plight through his pathetic songs Adikanda, a born blind, has passed Bhaskar degree in tabla from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and post graduation in Hindustani Vocal from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. A music teacher in profession, he struggles to earn bread for his family with an old fashioned harmonium and through his melodious voice. He had applied for artist pension in 2018. But, he has not got it yet. While the functionaries tell him that his name is in the waiting list, the pension eludes him after three years.
