Bhubaneswar, August 4: Fresh violence was reported in the capital city on Tuesday after a road rage incident escalated into a violent clash at Nandan Vihar Square under the Infocity Police Station limits.
According to preliminary information, the dispute began after a vehicle collision allegedly caused by wrong-side driving. The argument soon turned into a physical altercation, with members of both groups attacking each other. During the clash, iron rods were allegedly used, and an Ertiga car was extensively damaged.
Two persons were reportedly injured in the incident. Police rushed the injured to Capital Hospital for treatment.
The busy Nandan Vihar Square remained tense for nearly 30 minutes as the violence unfolded. Following the incident, six Police Control Room (PCR) vans were deployed to the spot. Senior officers from the local police station arrived and brought the situation under control.
Police have detained several youths from the scene and are questioning them at the police station. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and identify those involved.
