Bhubaneswar: Villagers of Kunjanga area in Jagatsinghpur district took to an innovative mode of movement to press for establishment of a super speciality hospital at Bhutumundai on the outskirts of port town of Paradip. According to reports, hundreds of men and women belonging to 19 gram panchayats under the Kujanga block have created a 12-km human chain from Bhutamundai to the Addition District Collector’s Office at Paradip. Men and women under the banner of the Kujanga Anchalika Suraksha Committee have stood holding hands in order to hand over a memorandum to the ADM in favour of their demand. “There are many industrial units in the area. We don’t oppose industrialization. But the administration should equally think of giving healthcare facilities to locals who have supported the industries in many ways,” said activists.
