Sambalpur, Oct 5: With Durga Puja coming to an end today, the influence of Bengali tradition reflects at Bangalipara at Khetrajpur in the district. They have adopted their traditional way of biding adieu to Maa Durga. They performed rituals like darpan bisarjan followed by Sindoor khela, the ritual of applying vermilion on each other.
The Woman, dressed in white and red sarees applied vermilion on Goddess’s forehead and her bangles and wiped her cheeks with betel leaves. Then, they put sweets in her mouth before bidding her goodbye.
They exchanged Shubha Bijaya greetings. All the married women gathered at Bangalipara to celebrate Sindoor Khela ceremony.
