Vigilance traces properties worth Rs Rs 2.13 crore including Rs 60.90 lakh cash of JE in Odisha

Berhampur, Mar 2: Vigilance sleuths have traced properties worth Rs 2.13 crore of K.Nageswar Senapati, Junior Enginner (JE) of Rauagada block in Gajapati district. Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday have conducted raids at six locations including the office of Senapati on allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income. Senapati was found in possession of assets worth Rs 2.13 crore crore including a two storied building worth Rs 36.46 lakh in Paralakhemundi, nine plots in Bhubaneswar and other places worth Rs 7.72 lakh, bank deposits worth Rs Rs 66.89 lakh and cash worth Rs 60.90 lakh. Vigilance sleuths said that the search process is still continuing. “The simultaneous searches were conducted on the basis of a court warrant and further investigation in the case is continuing. We are ascertaining the actual income of the officials,” said a vigilance official.  He also said that the income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and actual income.
