Vigilance traces 90 plots of Livestock Inspector in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 5: The Vigilance Directorate has traced as many as 90 plots belonging to Jagannath Rout, Livestock Inspector. The directorate has conducted raids on several properties of Rout on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his income at Kalarahanga in Raghunathpur on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The agency has traced a flat worth Rs 50 lakh at Royal Lagoon Apartment in Raghunathpur while it has also found a triple storied building located at Raghunathpur. Similarly, Vigilance sleuths have detected a triple stried market complex, one double storied building, one single storied building belonging to Rout. “We have also traced two other flats of Rout along with one outhouse in Banki. We have also found 500 gm gold and deposits of Rs 17 lakhs in different banks. Details of insurance and investments in other schemes are also being verified,” said an official. The technical wing of the Vigilance is carrying out detailed measurement, assessment and valuation of the buildings and plots. Officials said that the value of the plots would run in crores. “Vigilance sleuths said that the search process is still continuing. “The simultaneous searches were conducted on the basis of a court warrant and further investigation in the case is continuing. The income of the official would be calculated to ascertain the gap between the cost of assets and his actual income,” added the official.
