Gajapati, Oct 20: Vigilance sleuths on Monday raided six properties of a lecturer in Gajapati district and detected assets to the tune of Rs 2.83 crore.
G Nageswar Rao, lecturer in Education in Minaketan Degree College at Gurandi, was having properties beyond known source of income.
Bank deposits worth Rs 15.39 lakh, gold and silver ornaments worth 9.47 lakh, household items worth Rs 68.3 lakh, a car worth Rs 12 lakh were detected during raids.
A market complex owned by Rao in Betaguda was valued at Rs 30.90 lakh and plot worth over Rs 23 lakh was found by the anti-corruption bureau officials.
Vigilance sleuths said the lecturer had allegedly amassed ill gotten money through unfair means.
