Vigilance has trapped 129 corrupt Class-I officers during last 5 years: Naveen

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Vigilance has trapped as many as 129 corrupt Class-I officers during last five years, in connection with 125 cases, said Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik on Monday. Answering a question raised by Senior Congress leader and Jeypore MLA, Tara Prashad Bahinipati, in the Odisha Assembly today, Naveen said at least 506 Vigilance Cases have been registered against the dishonest officers in the last five years. In order to dispose the Vigilance cases at the earliest, as many as 19 Vigilance Courts have been established across the state. Hearings of the Cases are being accelerated in order to redress them as soon as possible. However, there is no proposal of establishing more Vigilance Courts, Patnaik added.
