Puri, June 27: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is scheduled to participate in this year’s Rath Yatra, confirmed Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena. Speaking to the media, Minister Jena stated that a number of high-profile dignitaries, including Union Ministers and prominent industrialists, are expected to attend the annual chariot festival. A preliminary list includes 10 to 12 VIP guests.
To ensure a smooth experience for devotees, the Transport Department has made extensive arrangements. Special bus services have been organized from every district to facilitate travel to Puri. A total of 28 designated parking zones have been set up, and 11 cranes have been deployed to manage logistical needs.
In addition, around 200 auto-rickshaws will offer free transportation services within the city. Authorities have also arranged free meal services for devotees. Fare charts have been mandatorily displayed in all government-run buses. The Minister has issued a strict warning to private bus operators, stating that any instance of overcharging will invite strict action.
The state government is working in close coordination with various departments to ensure a safe, smooth, and memorable Rath Yatra for all attendees.
