Vehicle theft gang busted in Cuttack, 34 motorcycles seized

Cuttack, Oct 24: Jagatpur police today busted a motorcycle theft gang and arrested five persons. Police have seized as many as 34 stolen motorcycles and one Tata Ace vehicle. The accused have been identified as Bhakta Charan Roul (28), Ratikanta Pradhan (26), Jagabandhu Rout (20), Prasanta Samal (25) and Pratap Sethi (45). Police said that the gang was involved in number of motorcycle lifting cases in different places of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Khordha and Mayurbhanj. “The gang used to sell the stolen vehicles in Keonjhar at low price. Further investigation in the case is continuing and we are also trying to verify the antecedents of the accused,” said a police official.
