Vast patch of cannabis cultivation destroyed in Kandhamal

Kandhamal, Nov 19: In a joint operation, K. Nuagaon police and excise officials destroyed canabis cultivation spread across 132 acres of land in Kandhamal district. Acting on a tip-off, police and excise officials conducted several raids at Kusakupada, Kudupakia and Gasukia villages under Siritiguda panchayat on Friday. Meanwhile, the teams destroyed cannabis plants spread across 132 acres of forest land. However, no farmers of the illegal cultivation could be nabbed since the used plots were govt and forest lands,said IIC, K. Nuagaon police,  Srinibas Samal.
