Puri, April 4: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra and Police DG Sunil Bansal have reached Puri to take stock of the incident of vandalization of around 80 ‘chulhas’ (mud ovens) in the kitchen of Shri Jagannatha Temple in Puri.
Earlier, police have identified three suspects in the incident. The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) had lodged an FIR in this regard at the Singhadwar Police Station.
It is pertinent to mention that, over 80 ‘chulhas’ (mud ovens) inside the Jagannath temple’s kitchen, known as the Rosa Ghara, were allegedly vandalized by some miscreants on late Saturday night. It is suspected that the incident might be a fallout of some business rivalry in Anand Bazar.
