Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi today announced that the state has received investment proposals three times greater than its initial expectations.
This boost follows the inauguration of the Utkarsh Odisha - Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 by Prime Minister Modi, where he urged investors to tap into the state’s immense potential. Originally, Odisha had aimed for Rs 5 lakh crore in investments, but the proposals far surpassed this target, reaching three times that amount.
“PM Modi today urged both domestic and global investors to invest in Odisha. We had set a target of Rs 5 lakh crore, but we have received proposals three times that figure. Odisha is definitely on the path to becoming a major industrial hub,” CM Majhi said.
Earlier, PM Modi underscored that Odisha is entering a new phase of growth, with opportunities across various sectors. He pointed out the state’s strategic location, rich cultural heritage, and the government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business.
Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 is a flagship Global Investment Summit, being hosted by the Government of Odisha, which aims to position the state as the anchor of the Purvodaya vision as well as a leading investment destination and industrial hub in India.
“Eastern India is a growth engine in the development of the country and Odisha plays a key role in this”, exclaimed the Prime Minister.
He added that historic data also reveals that the contributions of Eastern India were remarkable when India played a major role in global growth.
