During this timeframe, personnel operated in a combat zone for 200 consecutive days without a single port call. Crews launched over 10,000 sorties and dropped 1.5 million pounds of ordnance.

Facing Scrutiny over Sailor Morale

Lawmakers and military families recently raised red flags regarding the mental toll this grueling schedule took on service members. Cao acknowledged these difficulties, noting that combat operations inherently disrupt normal routines. Leaders treated a small number of mental health cases on board, though officials confirmed zero fatalities occurred during the tour.
