Washington, Aug 25: US President Joe Biden on Tuesday informed to complete the U.S. evacuation mission in Afghanistan by August 31. He, however, ordered contingency plans if the mission cannot be accomplished by the timeline. The US president informed it to Group of Seven (G7) leaders while attending a virtual G7 summit over Afghanistan earlier on Tuesday. "He (President) also made clear that with each day of operations on the ground, we have added risk to our troops with increasing threats from ISIS-K," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement, Xinhua news agency reported. "And that completion of the mission by August 31st depends on continued coordination with the Taliban, including continued access for evacuees to the airport." The US has been scrambling to evacuate Americans and its Afghan partners from the country since the Taliban entered the capital Kabul on August 15.
