Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The Odisha government has directed all district collectors to complete the delimitation of wards and reservation of seats for urban polls.
In a letter, Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department informed that the state government has decided that the delimitation of wards and reservation of seats for the general election to Municipalities/ NACs of the State shall be made afresh.
It said delimitation of wards and reservation of seats by the concerned District Magistrate and the issue of draft notification inviting objections and suggestions have to be completed by January 3.
The last date for receipt of objection and suggestions by the District Magistrates has been kept as January 12.
Publication of the notification relating to the delimitation of wards and reservation of seats has to be completed by January 13.
Appeal against the publication of notification for delimitation of wards and reservations of seats before the government has to be completed by January 27 beginning January 13. Appeals will be heard from January 28.
