Urban development department launches MPL-2.0 mechanism for holding tax

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: Urban development department, Odisha has launched MPL -2.0 mechanism for digital holding tax collection Odisha’s urban development department is going to boost up holding tax collection in 114 of its cities and towns. A digital model namely MPL-2.0 has been launched for this purpose. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra launched the Municipal Premiere League (MPL 2.0) system here at the Lokaseva Bhawan on Thursday. Principal Secretary to Housing & UD Department, G. Mathivathanan and Director of Municipal Administration, Sangramjit Nayak said that, MPL-2.0 is the advanced version of MPL-10. This model is at presently being utilised under Amrut yojna in Bhubaneswar, Cuttak, Bhadrak, Balasore, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Rourkela and Puri to collect holding tax effectively and more fairly. Now the newest version of MPL-2.0 will extended to 114 towns and urban bodies including nine Amrut run districts, added an UD official.
