Lucknow, May 11: The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday removed Director General of Police (DGP) Mukul Goel on the grounds of negligence, disobedience and lack of interest in departmental work. The 1987 batch IPS officer, who assumed the charge as DGP in June 2021, has been transferred to the post of DG Civil Security. ADG, law and order, Prashant Kumar will now fill in for Goel till a new DGP is appointed.
