Unwilling for in-law's house: Woman jumps to Brahmani River in Jajpur

Jajpur, Nov 12: A woman has attempted suicide jumping into the Brahmani River on the way to her in-law's house in Jajpur. The incident took place at the Brahmani bridge near national highway 53 in the afternoon. The woman, identified as Dali Mallik has been rescued and sent for medical care. Sources said that Dali, daughter of Bhagaban Mallik who belongs to Anjira village had married to Sagar Mallik in Jhulan. She was living with his parents after the atrocity from her in-laws became unbearable. However, she was being carried back to her in-law's house today after motivating her a lot. Meanwhile, she got up from the auto and leaped into the Brahmani from the bridge. Responding to the alarm of the auto drivers and family members, fishermen rescued her in a critical condition. She was rushed to the Kabatabandh hospital and later to Jajpur district headquarters hospital for treatment.
