Bhubaneswar, August 1: To strengthen cooperative institutions and boost the rural economy in the State, Union Cooperation Additional Secretary Pankaj Kumar Bansal visited Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in the Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts to review various ongoing activities.
Bansal, along with Odisha Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Manish Agrawal, visited 'Shree Jagannath FSCS' in Cuttack.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the general operations of the FSCS, credit delivery schemes, business diversification, and future strategies aimed at strengthening cooperative organizations in the coming days.
During this visit, Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, OSCB Chief General Manager (CGM) Rudra Prasad Das, Additional Secretary to the Cooperative Department Sangram Rout, DRCS Cuttack Supriya Swain, along with other senior officials, were present.
Similarly, Bansal visited 'Gengutia PACS' in Dhenkanal district to review the multi-faceted business activities managed by the society. He directly inspected the successfully run operations of the PACS, including its consumer store, LPG gas agency, fertilizer and seed distribution, and paddy procurement activities.
Emphasis was laid on fortifying the society's available infrastructure and expanding services to farmers through innovative business models.
On this occasion, RCS Odisha Manish Agrawal, Additional Secretary to the Cooperative Department Sangram Rout, NCDC Regional Director Abhijit Kulkarni, DRCS (Dhenkanal) Uma Shankar Das, ARCS (Dhenkanal) Ananya Sharma, as well as the PACS President and staff members were present.
