Boudh, May 26: The under-construction Khordha-Balangir Rail Tunnel that accidentally caved in on Monday trapped no life under it, said the East Coast Railways.
On being informed of the mishap this evening, the East Coast Railways authorities took stock of the situation from the ground and clarified that no worker has been stranded under the debris of the partly broken tunnel.
In a statement issued in this connection, the East Coast Railway said,a minor soil caving in occurred this afternoon at Tunnel No. 4 on the Khurda-Bolangir Railway line. It is due to loose soil formation and continuous rainfall in the area.
There has been no impact on manpower or machinery, and the incident will not affect the overall progress of the project. All necessary safety measures are in place, and work continues as planned, the statement added.

According to reports, a portion of the under-construction railway tunnel reportedly caved in all of a sudden near Adenigarh in the Boudh district this afternoon.
According to the onlookers, a trench of about 30 feet deep is visible inside the tunnel whereas the rest part of it remains intact.
The railway authorities and the officials of the executing agencies are taking stock of the matter, reaching out the spot immediately.
