Bhubaneswar, May 12: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has advised the authorities of higher educational institutions to fight Corona unitedly. UGC Chairperson Prof. Dhirendra Pal Singh has written a letter to all Vice Chancellors and Principals, in this connection on Tuesday. According to him, Corona pandemic has affected educational institutions badly. As a result, teacher, students and employees of the universities and colleges are in mental pressure. Similarly, their families are also in mental stress regarding health and education. In this situation, they need proper care and counseling. UGC has suggested to formulate Helpline and Task Force in order to resolve the stress due to the pandemic. Similarly, well planned programmes should be conducted in order to address the health hazards they face every day. Moreover, the National Cadet Corp (NCC) wings and the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers should be trained to work on Corona containment in their respective campus. Task forces should be formed to dedicate selfless services to facilitate Covid testing and vaccination among the divyangs and the backward classes. However, united effort of one and all can beat Corona from the campus, said Singh.
