Karanjia, Sept 21: Forest officials have arrested two persons and seized canines of musk deer and four tiger nails from their possession in Mayurbhanj's Karanjia. Sources said, acting on a tip off, Karanjia Forest Range officials arrested two wildlife smugglers from Andhra Pradesh when they were trying to sell the teeth and canines of musk deer at Dudhiani forest range area here. The official said the Musk deer, is a rare species that are seen in Himanchal Pradesh. The two mafias were engaged in illegal trading of canine of animals. A case under Section 9, 27, 31 and punishable by Act 51 with wildlife protection Act.1972 was registered and they will be produced in the court.
