Puri, Aug 15: Mystery shrouded over the death of two tourists from West Bengal, including a woman, after their bodies were found hanging inside a hotel room in Odisha’s Puri city.
The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.
Reports stated that though the duo had checked into the hotel on August 9, 2025, the incident came to light today.
A foul odor was reported emanating from a room at the Hotel Taj on Chakra Tirtha Road. The hotel manager immediately alerted the Marine Police Station, and upon discovering the door was locked from the inside, officers broke opened it.
According to police sources, authorities in West Bengal have been alerted, and efforts are underway to contact the victims' family members.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow, and CCTV footage from the hotel will be examined as part of the investigation, said the police.
