Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park here became richer by two tiger cubs, including a white one, early this morning. With this, the tiger population of the zoo increased to 25.
According to reports, tigress ‘Sneha’ gave birth to two cubs-a white and a red- at around 4 am on Thursday. With this, ‘Sneha’ became mother of a total of nine cubs.
In 2014, Sneha had given birth to four cubs, including a black one, which was rated a rare one in the world. Two years later in 2016, she also bore three cubs, including a black one. In 2014 and 2016, Sneha had been mated with Manish, who has already died.
The two cubs born today are parented by Sneha and Saif, according to reports. The newborn cubs are doing fine and zoo officials and animal lovers are all happy with the new guests.
