Binjharpur, June 11: In a shocking incident, an infant allegedly died at Phalpur village of Haladidiha panchayat under Binjharpur block after being administered a vaccine. According to sources, the two-month-old daughter of Lochan Mallick and Mansi Mallick of the village, went to the nearest Anganwadi Center on Thursday morning for vaccination. Health worker Liliprabha Das administered a vaccine to the baby in presence of Kunilata Mallick, an Anganwadi worker. The baby later felt unconscious following which she was shifted to Binjharpur PHC where she was declared dead. Mansi Mallick has lodged a complaint at local police station in this regard. Investigation is underway. The body has been sent to DHH for post-mortem.
