Baripada, Aug 28: In a tragic incident, two minor boys were killed after their bike crashed into a roadside tree in Baripada area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Subham Naik (17) and Rakesh Naik (17), both residents of Bangiriposhi area.
As per reports, the mishap took place near Kochilaghat village under Baripada Sadar police station. Four friends, including the deceased minor boys, had visited the picturesque Lulung area near Similipal Sanctuary. While returning, their bike lost control and crashed into a tree, causing severe head injuries.
Despite efforts to rush them to PRM Hospital, two teenagers were declared dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the hospital and seized the bodies before sending them for post-mortem.
Families of the deceased have been informed, and a case has been registered, said the police adding that further investigation into the accident is underway.
