The nabbed terrorists have been identified as Irfan Bashir and Uzair Salam.

Acting on special intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched by the Special Operations Group (SOG) Shopian, 44 Rashtriya Rifles, and 178 Battalion CRPF in the Baskuchan area of Poonch.

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) on Wednesday night and nabbed the terrorists.

The officials also recovered two AK-56 rifles, four magazines, 102 rounds (7.62x39mm), two hand grenades and two pouches from their possession and seized.

The authorities said that an FIR has been registered against the duo, and a thorough investigation is now underway.

Notably, hybrid militants are people who aren’t officially seen as extremists, but they are radical enough to carry out an attack and then blend back into normal life.
