Two forest personnel arrested in Odisha for taking bribe

Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Vigilance sleuths today arrested a forester and protection warder working with the Khordha forest range on charges of demanding and accepting bribe. Vigilance sleuths said that the accused identified as Akshaya Kumar Muduli (forester) and Durga Prasad Panda (protection warder) has demanded bribe of Rs 5000 from one Chaitanya Maharana threatening him to implicate in a wildlife case. Accordingly, a trap was laid on Friday and the accused were caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance. “Muduli received the bribe money and directed Panda to take away the money. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused. Both the accused have been arrested and will be forwarded tomorrow In this connection a case has been registered and further investigation is continuing,” said an official.
