Bhubaneswar: As many as seven passengers were injured, two of them critically, as two buses collided head-on at Bhawanipali near Maneshwar in Sambalpr district early this morning.
While all injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital soon, two of them were later shifted to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in view of their critical conditions.
According to the reports, the accident occurred as drivers could not gauge narrowness of the road while driving vehicles at high speeds. A bus named ‘Minu’ was on its way from Bhubaneswar to Bargarh and another bus named ‘Usha’ was on its way from Sambalpur to Angul when they collided.
Police have reached the spot and started investigation.
