Two burnt alive after two trucks collide head-on in Odisha's Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna, Dec 28: In a tragic incident, a truck driver and a helper were burnt alive after two trucks collided head-on in Bhawanipatna locality of Odisha's Kalahandi district in the early hours of Saturday.

The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained.

As per reports, the mishap took place near Pastikudi village under Bhawanipatna Sadar police limits in the district when a coal-laden truck collided head-on with another truck, igniting both vehicles. Tragically, one of the drivers and the helper were trapped inside and burnt alive.

Upon getting the information, police along with the fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

The cops seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

The exact cause of the accident remains uncertain, but speeding and reckless driving are suspected to have played a role.
