Truck load of pediatric medicine destroyed in Angul!

Angul, Sep 15: Truck-load of pediatric medicine has been allegedly destroyed in Angul district headquarters hospital on Saturday. The incident came to the fore when huge packs of essential medicines which are meant for the infants at the prenatal and post-natal stage were found to be loaded to a truck and disposed at a dumping yard late on Sunday night. Sources said, some expired medicines including, iron and folic acids, vitamin-D3, Calcium with other essential pediatric medicines were stored in a medical quarter inside the hospital campus. {"id":137527,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} At the time of dismantling the quarter in order to construct new staff complex in the morning, the medicines were recovered which were left out with other debris. Subsequently, the medicines were salvaged into a truck and ultimately disposed off in the dumping yard, farther from the town. Local elites and civic bodies raised their eyebrows on the matter and blamed the hospital authorities for their lack of vision.
