Puri, Nov 19: Suna Besha or Rjarajeswar Besha ritual has been performed in Puri Jagannath temple on Friday.

Trinity has been bedecked with golden crowns and golden fins on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.

According to the rituals the Mekapa,Puspalaka and Khuntia sevaks adorned the siblings with a number of golden ornaments including crowns, armlets and fins after the daily Nitis were performed earlier.

The lord Jagannath and Balabhadra were dressed with attractive patas (royal apparels) like emperors and goddess Subhadra in the attire of a queen.

The Suna Besha tradition in Puri Jagannath temple is a famous occasion in Shri Jagannath cult. It is celebrated five times in a year on which the deities come up before the devotee with the royal attires.

However, the devotees could not have darshan of the Suna Besha this year, for the restrictions imposed due to the Corona pandemic.
