Trinity bedecked with golden crowns in Puri Jagannath temple

Puri, Nov 17:‘Tribikrama Besha’ ritual has been performed in Puri Jagannath temple on Wednesday. The Trinity have been adorned with golden crowns along with flower bids in the morning. Khuntia, Mekapa and Puspalak servitors bedecked the Trinity with divine apparels and golden crowns, after the daily rituals in the early morning. On the auspicious occasion of "Kartika Shukla Pakhya Trayodashi Tithi" (thirteenth day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month "Kartika") the "Tribikrama Besha" of the deities is performed in the Puri Jagannath temple.. In this attire, "Chula" or crests are fitted to the divine head of Shree Jagannath and Balabhadra . The gold "Kias" (screw pines) are fitted crosswise to the crests. The golden "Chandrika" is also attached to the divine heads of the deities.The Besha is also know as ‘Adikia Besha’
