Baripada, Aug 24: A 45-year-old tribal woman was brutally beheaded by an unidentified assailant in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, police reported on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday night in Deogaon village, under the jurisdiction of Tiring police station. The victim has been identified as Suhagi Goipai.
According to police, Suhagi was alone at home when the attack occurred. Her husband, Mathai Goipai, was away attending a village football tournament at the time.
Senior police officials visited the crime scene on Sunday as part of the investigation.
A case of murder has been registered, and a post-mortem examination was carried out at the Rairangpur Subdivisional Hospital.
