Traffic violator stabs lady home guard in Odisha's Rayagada

Rayagada, Dec 14: A lady home guard sustained grievous injuries after being stabbed with a knife by a traffic violator at Chandili in the Rayagada district. The victim has been identified as Rina Bidika. Sources said, the incident occurred while Rina was on duty when a youth violated the traffic rule and hit a bus with his motorcycle. Following this, the home guard seized the motorcycle and detained it at Chandili Police Station and instructed the youth to recover his motorcycle from the police station. However, the youth started an argument with Rina before leaving the spot, but later stabbed Rina six times. A fellow home guard rushed her to the district headquarters hospital, later she was shifted to MKCG Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.
